Before starting their product redesign they started with cultural change
Consider the following guiding principles
- Make your recruiters part of the team
- Don’t use gimmicks to attract great talent
- Build pride in the company’s brand
- Hierarchy and rank are for the military (build a culture of spheres and influence)
- Company values are more than a buzz term
- Let the team promote rockstars
- Quality matters and users notice the difference
- Integrate with your product team
- Don’t hire clones of yourself, diversity
- Move people around, including managers
- Promote learning teaching and sharing
- Spotlight people’s personal interests (and skills)
- Keeping a pulse on the trends in pulp culture
- Make user experience a natural behavior
- Ensure user experience has a seat at the table
